General Guidelines on Operating an E-Bike

  1. Charge the battery completely before initial use.
  2. Check the tyre pressure of the E-bike from time to time; as low pressure will result in less kilometer range, & may over load the controller.
  3. Ensure all connections are done by the same matching sockets & that the wires are not tapped with each other. This may result in sparking/ fire or damage to motor or other electronic parts.
  4. Please charge the E-Bike in a cool & dry place.
  5. A time interval of 30 minutes of rest to be given before charging & after charging of the E-Bike as the batteries are in heated condition when the bike is in motion & also during the charging process.
  6. A time interval of 30 minutes of rest to be given before charging & after charging of the E-Bike as the batteries are in heated condition when the bike is in motion & also during the charging process.
  7. Whenever the E-Bike is taken to a shop for tyre puncture, it is important to ensure that the motor is removed safely & that the wires are not entangled/broken, also when refitting the motor the nuts to be fully tightened with the help of ring spanner, and also that the wires are matched to the sockets.
  8. The charger is an external part of the E-Bike; the same should be kept in an airy place to avoid over heating during charging away from humidity & water.

Caution

  1. Do not expose the battery to heat, fire or water.
  2. Do not keep the battery in discharged condition for any length of time.
  3. Do not try to dismantle the charger or battery pack.
  4. Do not expose the battery to extremely high or low temperatures.
  5. Keep the battery pack out of children's reach.
  6. Ensure that the Power Switch is OFF when the OREVA E-Bike is being charged.
  7. Stop charging, if any burning smell or overheating is observed.

Tips to Improve Range

  1. Avoid overloading and over speeding as this will reduce the range substantially.
  2. Avoid fast acceleration. A racing start at full acceleration can drain the energy from battery faster. Start off gradually.
  3. Maintain the correct tyre pressure. Under inflation of the tyres can waste energy due to increased rolling resistance of the tyres.
  4. Turn off the power whenever OREVA E-Bike is not in use such as road crossings etc. Take advantage of easy starting feature of OREVA E-Bike and switch it off till required.
  5. Drive cost consciously, anticipate traffic conditions, and avoid frequent and unnecessary braking.

Lubrication

  1. Regular cleaning and lubrication of all moving parts is a must. Need-based lubrication is suggested for OREVA E-Bike which can be judged from the 'feeling' of hardness and obstruction to movements. Dusty and rainy conditions will require more frequent lubrication.
  2. Any general purpose lubricant such as Active 4T (Castrol) or MP3 Grease can be used. Even oil-can may be used to lubricate OREVA E-Bike.
  3. Lubrication is required for all bearing fittings such as front and rear axles, handle / steering & frame joints, bearings on central pedal axle, pedals, brake lever joints, chain (with grease), etc.
  4. Excess oil or grease should be cleaned by a cloth.

Cleaning

  1. The vehicle should be cleaned at regular intervals by wiping with damp cloth.
  2. Strong detergents should be strictly avoided. Mild detergent may be used in diluted condition.
  3. Water under pressure should not be used for cleaning as this may damage the electrical components.
